100 years of radio: Udo Hubers Retroparty inspires Krems
As part of the anniversary "100 Years of Radio", Öster-Reich celebrated the long-awaited return of a very special event: the "Spotlight retro party" with the legendary Udo Huber. Last weekend, the 59th edition of the popular retro party took place not only in the Krems, but also in a car dealership, which caused a unusual location. Udo Huber, who is known as the "Mr. Hitparade", brought the retro mood to life.
The preparations for this festive evening were complex and everyone knew that it would be a nostalgic journey through time. The music from the 70s, 80s and 90s fulfills the room and reminded of past nights full of joy and emotions. Huber himself explained: "This party has been part of my life for many years, actually decades". A sentimental feeling that he wanted to share with the guests.
The return of the nostalgia
The evening started lively with the first song: "Video Killed the Radio Star" of the buggles, which Udo Huber commented with a wink: "Video Didn’t Kill the Radio Star", and thus a direct connection to the anniversary of the radio and music history. Hard to believe that the first radio broadcasts started in Austria exactly 100 years ago, and yet the radio has retained its relevance to this day.
on the turntable, DJ Chosn and VJ Christian provided the right atmosphere by presenting the best music videos from the nostalgic era. Classics such as Aha's "Take on Me" and Nena "99 balloons" contributed to the fact that the dance floor was quickly overcrowded. The participants not only heard the music, they literally lived with every beat.
Huber's tirelessness
Udo Huber is not only known for his music selection, but also for his tireless charm. Despite his knee surgery in May, the 70-year-old showed that he was fit and even won medals at the Austrian Masters in swimming. This remarkable performance, silver over 400 m crawl and gold over 200 m butterfly, proves its energy and passion, which was also noticeable on the stage.
like on the radio, where he continues to moderate a weekly Friday afternoon program on Radio Burgenland, Udo Huber does not miss a casual offer to bring fans and lovers of retro music together. His commitment and passion for music and entertainment are unmistakable and involve the community for further unforgettable party nights.
