Innovative projects awarded: Lower Austria awards Lower Austria Libraries Award 2024

The Lower Austria Library Prize 2024 was awarded last Saturday in the Z2000 event center in Stockerau. State Councilor Ludwig Schleritzko presented the award in a solemn framework on four libraries, which with their innovative projects convinced as pioneers in the library landscape. The award ceremony took place in the presence of numerous community representatives as well as librarians.

The Lower Austria Library Prize recognizes the valuable work of the libraries in Lower Austria and thanks everyone who is committed to this important facility. In his speech, State Councilor Schleritzko emphasized the importance of libraries as a meeting point for reading friends and educational seekers. "The award winners have done great things with their projects and thus demonstrated the diversity and innovative strength of the Lower Austrian libraries," he praised the excellent libraries.

The Lower Austria Library Prize was awarded in four categories to appreciate the various aspects of library work. In the category "Acceptance and encouragement", the city library "Am Stiergraben" Neunkirchen, the public library of the municipality of Ternitz and the ÖGB, the Stadtbücherei - Infothek Gloggnitz and the Würflach community library for their project "Long Night of Libraries im Schwarzatal" were awarded.

In the category "Offer and multifunctionality", the Bergern library was able to use the "Bergern library - your companion" Library from the start! " convince. The Pottendorf library took first place in the "Accessibility and space" category with the "Expansion of the library" project. The best result in the category "Human Resources and Team Development" was achieved by the reading meeting point Schleinbach-Ulrichskirchen-Kronberg with the "Junior Team-TeamBuilding" project.

The winners were selected by a high -ranking jury of experts who consisted of internal and external experts. The decision was made on the basis of a point system that evaluated the individual projects. To the delight of everyone present, the author Margit Mössmer provided an impressive reading for the literary highlight of the evening and the Stockerau music school accompanied the event with her musical talent.
