Hollabrunns women celebrate the first win of the season - men with a short game
The handball women of the UHC Hollabrunn fought for an important victory last weekend. In the game against the table neighbor Gleisdorf/Weiz, the Hollabrunner competed with determination to finally score their first points of the season. Trainer Attila Czetenyi was able to fall back on the full squad and the team was ready from the start to accept the challenge.
In the first half of the game, the team showed an impressive defense performance, supported by goalkeeper Daniela Blahova. This strong defense work meant that the Hollabrunner went into the half -time break with 13:10. In the second section, too, the women kept their lead when they were in the lead in the 45th minute 19:15. The tireless efforts of the entire team paid off: in the final phase they gave the guests no chance and prevailed with a clear 27:20 victory. "A strong collective was the key to this victory," said a satisfied coach Czetenyi.

The men's team of the UHC Hollabrunn was heavier in her match and started well by initially letting 5: 2, but mistakes in the attack led to the opponent turning the game up to half and taking the lead with 11:13. After the break, uncertainty seemed to break into the game of the Hollabrunner, which enabled the guests to further expand their lead. In the 40th minute it was already 16:20.
In the final phase of the game, however, the team fought with a new enthusiasm. Paolo Roki brought a fresh wind and helped shorten the gap to 23:25. In the decisive final phase, goalkeeper Matic Gercar showed an impressive performance and secured the gate. Captain Kristof Gal equalized in the 57th minute to 26:26. Shortly before the end of the game, Rade Radjenovic scored the decisive 27:26. Despite a rather incorrect game, the UHC was able to win a happy victory thanks to strong individual services. UHC manager Gerhard Gedinger commented on the game: "A faulty game that was won thanks to strong individual services." In the meantime, the coach of the five-house team was optimistic: "Today, luck was not on our side."
