Festive honors and music: Arminia Hollabrunn celebrates 105 years
Last weekend the 105th foundation festival of the student connection Arminia Hollabrunn took place in the Reisinger inn. This event forms a highlight in the annual calendar of the connection. The festival weekend was opened with an entertaining beer opera in the inn "At Rammel". Well -known melodies were in focus, which were humorously rewritten and reinterpreted by liaison members, as Senior Martin Honsig explained. The foundation festival, also known as Kommers, not only served to celebrate the existence of the connection, but was also an opportunity to honor long -standing members. Honsig proudly reports of honorary band ceremonies for members who have been part of the community for a long time - also up to 100 semesters. In addition, three boys were admitted as full members, while a student became an official member of the old men.
incoming traditions
Erwin Sainitzer, a Philistine of the connection, emphasized that the Arminia Hollabrunn is not a fraternity, but a Catholic-Austrian student connection. This is an important distinction. The tradition that the festival is celebrated in autumn is new, while the actual founding day of the connection, the December 8th, is also celebrated with a special ceremony.
Currently, the Arminia Hollabrunn has around 170 members and is active in all federal states in Austria and internationally. Honsig emphasizes that membership has lifelong character began with the recording that is possible at the earliest from the age of 14.
Interestingly, the Arminia has changed over time: in the past only students from the humanistic high school were welcome, the connection is open to all school areas today. There are now also students of HTL and HAK.The Arminia Hollabrunn does not see itself as a striking connection, so that exceptions to religious affiliation are also possible. This open and inclusive approach reflects the development of the connection. Details and further information are in the article by www.noen.at to be found.
