Pulkau. The darts club Pulkau recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. Founded by Michael Platzer, Herbert Gschmschmetler and Stefan Schalkhas in January 2014, the club has developed to a significant part of the regional darts scene over the years and created numerous unforgettable experiences. An anniversary originally planned for January had to be postponed due to delays in the renovation work in the new hall, but could now be successfully made up.

The history of the association is exciting and shaped by constant change. Initially, the first tournaments took place in 2015 in the Pöltinger Hof in Pulkau. However, the rapid increase of the participants quickly made it clear that the premises were not sufficient. A move to the Europahaus followed in 2016, where the association held its events by 2023. Due to the high demand, however, it was increasingly difficult to find suitable appointments. Therefore, the association decided to use the hall of a member from 2024 to better meet the needs of the members.

The Dartverein Pulkau is committed to creating an amateur tournament company with a high fun factor. This enables players at a similar level of performance to take part in the competitions. "In order to preserve the original concept of the association, the maximum level of play is limited to the level of the hobby or tavern league," explains the chairman Michael Platzer. In recent years, some of the players active in the early days have even qualified for higher leagues, which underlines the development of the association.

The tournaments of the darts club take place twice a year and are open to all genders. A single competition and a separate women's competition are held, which crowns with a award ceremony and trophies. The annual double tournament is another highlight and is organized especially for the loyal members.
