Gänserndorf starts with a strong victory in the regional league season

The men's team of the UHC Gänserndorf has made an impressive start to the new regional league season. Last Saturday they met Team Atzgersdorf II in the town hall, which had played in the Vienna Landesliga last season. Significant differences between the teams were quickly visible. Gänserndorf immediately put pressure on the opposing goal and was able to develop a comfortable lead at an early stage. Particularly noteworthy was the player Benedikt Schönner, who could hardly be stopped by the Atzgersdorfern, which made their trainers make quick adjustments.

The strength of Gänserndorf was in its flexible style of play. In the back room, several players such as Johannes Henzl, Martin Toth and the newcomers, including the Slovak Jaroslav Petras, contributed to the scorer list. Coach Rudolf Draskovic made sure that the season was efficiently distributed, while the outside players like Tobias Frank and Juraj Stepanovsky also contributed to the high victory. The result of the second half was never in danger, which clearly reflected the oppressed face of the ex-Gänserndorfer Arkadiusz Hübbe in the Atzgersdorfer Tor.

A successful start with a view to the front

After the successful game, coach Draskovic was satisfied with the progress on the offensive and defensive. In the coming days, the focus for the team is on the further improvement in defensive behavior while preparing for the next duel. This weekend Gänserndorf will compete at the UHC Stockerau, against which they had already competed in the Lower Austria Cup semi-final and had won significantly. Stockerau was also able to win the first championship game, with a result of 33:21.

Gänserndorf, which started the season with a 33:20 victory, is at the top of the table after this start.

Difficult start for the women's team

However, the focus will be on the ÖHB Cup before, where the Gänserndorf women will play against the second division club Krems-Langenlois next Saturday at 7 p.m. This encounter is already eagerly awaited because the women want to give everything so as not to disappoint their fans and bring about a positive turn.
