Farmers' association triumphs: 82 percent in agricultural elections in Lower Austria!
In the current Chamber of Agriculture in Lower Austria, the Lower Austrian Farmers' Association achieved a remarkable result of 82 percent of the vote. With this overwhelming support, the Bauernbund 32 of a total of 36 mandates in the General Assembly of the State Chamber of Agriculture secured the strongest faction, such as orf.at reported. This means that the farmers' association continues to provide the president and the two vice presidents and at the district level of all 21 chamber guards. The turnout was 46.6 percent, since 72,274 voters dismissed their votes.
The election was expensive because five lists at the state level were available for the first time, which is the largest chamber of Agriculture in Austria. The Austrian independent farmers' association (UBV) was able to unite 9.8 percent of the votes and reached three mandates. Freedom farmers (FB) secured 4.9 percent and thus a mandate. In contrast, the SPÖ farmers and the green farmers with 2.2 percent and 1.1 percent missed the four percent hurdle and did not move into the general assembly, such as Today.at informed.
trust in the Bauernbund
Top candidate and chamber president Johannes Schmuckenschlager commented on the outstanding result: "This result is a strong sign of trust and at the same time a clear mission for the future." The choice was not easy because "everyone competed against the farmers' association", but the result reflected the trust of the farmers in their representatives. Schmuckenschlager emphasized that the electorate knew who it could rely on - not only before the elections, but also afterwards.
