Amstetten. The Kulturhof Amstetten started the autumn with an exciting event program. In the coming weeks, interested parties can look forward to a philosophical café, a concert and a lecture that will respond to different topics and offer different perspectives.
On November 26, the philosophical café with Evelyn Adunka takes place, who works as a historian and employee of Theodor Kramer-Gesellschaft. Under the title "Philosophy based on Jewish autobiographies", she will give a deep insight into the connection between philosophical and autobiographical writing. Adunka will explicitly go into works from her book "My Jewish autobiographies", in particular on the thoughts of the German-Jewish philosopher Hans Jonas. Using autobiographies, you will explain how philosophers describe their lives and what philosophical questions about.
concert by the Kagerer-Schaden-Deixler trio
On November 29, the Kagerer-Schauer-Deixler trio will be on stage and will come up with a performance, which is described as a "chamber-music slow motion of extemporary rapid". The trio, consisting of Volker Kagerer (guitar), Franz Schaden (bass) and Rainer Deixler (drums), promises a musical experience that will inspire the audience with his creative way. Tickets are only available at the box office, the price is 15 euros or 10 euros for members of the AK/ÖGB.
Lecture by Gudrun Harrer
On December 2, the lecture by Gudrun Harrer is on the program, which acts as a leading editor of the "Standard" and teaches modern Arabic history at the University of Vienna and the diplomatic academy. In her lecture "The Middle East after October 7", she will analyze the current developments, in particular the attack by Hamas to Israel, which has refuted the acceptance of a peaceful transition without a political solution for the Palestinians. The lecture will also shed light on the regional tensions between Israel, Iran and other actors such as the Hisbollah.
