New Year's reception in Dunkelsteinerwald: Farewell to former mayor Penz!

In the festive framework of the New Year's reception of the market town of Dunkelsteinerwald, central personalities from the region were honored and adopted. Former Mayor Franz Penz, a prominent face in the community, was recognized as mayor for his extraordinary merits for over 40 years in the local council and more than 20 years. The governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner personally thanked him for his tireless efforts and presented him with the golden ring of honor of the community. Among the guests of honor were also the former state president Johann Penz, district chief Daniela Obleser and Mayor Josef Berger, who initiated the new year together and celebrated the success of the community, reports Meinbezirk.at.

Franz Penz joined the local council in 1985 and led the community through significant changes. Under his leadership, the modern infrastructure with facilities such as the new kindergarten in Mauer and a health center in Gansbach was improved. At the celebration, Mayor Josef Berger outlined his vision for the future of the community, which includes the expansion of childcare and disaster prevention. Mikl-Leitner emphasized that the merger of the municipalities of Gansbach, Gerolding, Mauer and Kicking was a success story and that the cooperation between the citizens and the administration strengthened the attractiveness of the region, as is listed next door in Noen.at.

an outlook on the upcoming projects

With a clear focus on the further development of the municipality, Berger announced that it would promote open youth work more intensively and to create more offers for the youth together with the local clubs. Penz, on the other hand, addressed his thanks to both the citizens and the state of Lower Austria, which financially supported numerous projects and presented the association of the communities as an important step for the future. This illustrates the spirit of the cooperation that shapes the municipality of Dunkelsteinerwald. The New Year's celebration was therefore not only a look back at the successes of the past, but also as a prelude to new, gratifying developments in the region.
