New regulations for the disclosure of advantages and income for politicians: inside

The list of the secondary activities of the MPs will be available online from November 25th. In doing so, they meet the corresponding provisions of the federal constitution and the incompatibility and transparency law. The law requires the members of the National Council and the Federal Council to publicly announced any leading position in a stock corporation, GmbH, Foundation or Sparkasse, such as managing director or member of the supervisory board. There is also an obligation to report for managing voluntary work. In addition, all activities that bring a asset advantage must be reported.

The income category is determined from this information, which corresponds to the average monthly gross references from the specified data. This information must be available by June 30 of the following year at the latest. The current list of secondary activities in accordance with Section 9 of the Removal BVG for the National Council can be found on the parliamentary website from November 25, 2024.

The publication of the list serves the transparency and is intended to ensure that the MPs have no conflicts of interest and disclose their activities. This strengthens the public's trust and it is made possible to identify possible conflicts of interest.

Further information can be found in parliamentary correspondence No. 1068/2024.
