Mure to heavy rain: Fire brigade clears spilled streets in pre -graves!
Prägraten, Österreich - On June 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., the district of Bobojach in Prägraten in the Lienz district, East Tyrol, was hit by violent heavy rain. The latter led to a degenerate from the Mours, which spilled part of the municipal road and a pipe below this street. The degenery exit occurred over the "pussy ditch" and small muds poured over the paved road. As reported 5min, the fire brigade was quickly in use at the Großvenediger and moved in with five vehicles and 35 emergency services to deal with the effects of nature.
The measures included the use of construction vehicles that were needed to release the spilled pipe. The municipal road is important because it leads to two homes. After the road has been cleared, it should be released for traffic again. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and according to initial assessments, the property damage is only slightly.
consequences of the heavy rain
In addition to the Mure, there was a serious traffic accident on the same day: an alcoholic handlebar ignored the mark of a police check and raced away at an excessive speed, lost control of his vehicle and fell into the Villgratenbach. This incident was documented by MeinDärd and shows not only nature, but also traffic safety. The overall impression of such weather events leads to a repeated discussion about the dangers associated with heavy rain. According to the GDV, the frequency of damage caused by heavy rain has increased in recent years. The studies by the German Weather Service show that the number of extreme rainfall has increased because the heated atmosphere can store more moisture. This increases the likelihood of heavy rain, floods and other natural dangers, which is why preparations and corresponding measures for risk assessment are becoming increasingly important.
Reporting on such incidents underlines the need to adapt the infrastructure to the changed climatic conditions. Concepts such as the sponge city could help design the urban structures in such a way that they can react better to extreme weather events.
