MBDA and AXISCADES: New defense center planned in India!
At this year's Paris Air Show 2025, the managing directors of MBDA and Axiscades, Eric Béranger and Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, the far -reaching expansion of its strategic partnership for Indian defense production. This continuation of the cooperation is based on the long -term vision of MBDA, which focuses on the "Make in India" initiative. Axiscades, an Indian offset partner of MBDA, has established itself as an essential supporter in the development and maintenance of defense systems.
The partnership refers especially to tailor-made test benches and solutions for mica rockets and rocket launchers. Axiscades also takes on maintenance services at the depot level for these carrier systems. In the course of this agreement, Axiscades will build a new facility in Aerospace Park near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. This will include both test bench laboratories and specific equipment for rocket launchers.
extended cooperation and new technologies
The cooperation between MBDA and Axiscades is supported by new working groups that deal with the identification and implementation of additional cooperation fields. Both companies strive to exploit the advantages of this extended partnership. A trademark of this cooperation is the planning of a test laboratory, a rocket shot system and the provision of trained staff to ensure continuous top performance with delivery and support.
The expertise of Axiscades extends over various areas, including aerospace, defense and technologies. The company, a subsidiary of Axiscades Technologies, operates 17 locations worldwide and employs more than 3,200 people. In the past ten years, Axiscades, as the main offset partner of MBDA in India, has made considerable progress by successfully implementing specific and printing orders.
clear commitment to defense production
This partnership expansion is in line with India's “Atmanirbhar Bharat” strategy that aims at self-sufficiency. With the growing global presence of MBDA, the volume of procurement for products and services could increase considerably in the coming years. MBDA, created from the merger of the armaments activities of Airbus, Bae Systems and Leonardo, has specialized in complex weapons systems and offers comprehensive support services over the entire product life cycle.
This initiative is part of a more comprehensive strategy that is also becoming more important in the context of major events such as Aero India 2025. In this leading aerospace and defense exhibition, India's armed forces demonstrated military diplomacy and the intention to strengthen strategic defense partnerships. These relationships underline the role of companies such as MBDA and Axiscades in the development of an independent defense industry in India, which increasingly relies on technology transfer and high -quality local production.
Overall, both companies expect that this increased cooperation not only increases efficiency, but also promotes innovative strength in defense production in India.
