Stoner brummi in Traiskirchen: 110 kilos of marijuana secured!

In the night of Wednesday, a truck with 110 kilograms of cannabis was discovered in Traiskirchen (Baden district). This discovery is part of comprehensive investigations by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, which particularly targets North African drug gangs. The investigation is led by the so -called "AG Maghreb", which was founded in 2015 to take the organized groups of perpetrators, and the drugs are obtained from the Balkans. The Viennese police announced no further details on the ongoing investigation, but emphasizes the continued threat from drug trafficking.

At the same time, the activities of North African gangs that have taken over drug trade in Vienna in recent years have increased. These groups provide the Viennese market with high -purity cocaine and cannabis, while they are increasingly professionalizing themselves and growing out in their brutality beyond the previously dominating West African gangs. The street sales value of the last secured drugs is around four million euros. Investigators of the AG Maghreb have already secured more than 450 kilograms of cannabis, 5 kilograms of heroin and 4.5 kilograms of cocaine since its foundation.

drug herself and arrests

In around Easter, several hundred kilograms of cannabis and two kilos of cocaine have already been intercepted in both Styria and Vienna. Five men between the ages of 35 and 47 were arrested, while another suspicious was escaped. Drugs were often hidden in truck deliveries that transported food, among other things,. A significant truck was recently picked up at the border crossing, while another delivery in the Vienna district of Favoriten was stopped, where 241 kilograms of cannabis could be ensured.

The AG Maghreb has also found numerous suspects who live in Vienna and may be involved. House searches in several districts led to further discoveries, including cash amounts of up to 20,000 euros and money counters.

a bigger problem

The procedure of the North African gangs seems well organized, whereby the criminals were plans to upload the drugs into minibuses and to distribute them to other groups of perpetrators who were supposed to act as so -called "runners". These gangs have established a well -organized distribution network in Vienna, while an increase in violence in connection with drug trafficking is also being observed. An incident at the Ottakringer Brunnenmarkt, in which a 26-year-old fled to the police with a nave, testifies to the brutal reality of drug trafficking in the city.

The AG Maghreb will continue to try to smash the drug structures, even if the methods and the number of arrested dealers are not sufficient to stop the flourishing drug trafficking. According to reports, the main organizers of these North African gangs have already been arrested in France and Italy, an indication that the problem goes beyond the borders of Austria. It remains to be seen which further measures the police will take to improve the situation.
