In the night of Wednesday, a truck with 110 kilograms of cannabis was discovered in Traiskirchen (Baden district). This discovery is part of comprehensive investigations by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, which particularly targets North African drug gangs. The investigation is led by the so -called "AG Maghreb", which was founded in 2015 to take the organized groups of perpetrators, and the drugs are obtained from the Balkans. The Viennese police announced no further details on the ongoing investigation, but emphasizes the continued threat from drug trafficking.

The AG Maghreb will continue to try to smash the drug structures, even if the methods and the number of arrested dealers are not sufficient to stop the flourishing drug trafficking. According to reports, the main organizers of these North African gangs have already been arrested in France and Italy, an indication that the problem goes beyond the borders of Austria.
