Carinthian men's team secures bronze at ASKÖ federal championships!
The ASKÖ federal championships took place in Klagenfurt on the Pentecost weekend in the performance center of the Carinthian Sports Kegler Association. The event, led by State Officer Dipl.Ing. Christian Matitz, gathered teams from several federal states in the categories women, men and tandem mixed. Carinthia's men's team, consisting of Roman Leitner, Werner Rössler, Daniel Waldhauser (all KSK Klagenfurt-Magdalensberg) and Hugo Sussitz (BSG Kärntner State Government), won the bronze medal with an overall ranking of 2257 bowling.
The last medal win for the men's team already dates to 2017. Styria secured the overall victory, while Lower Austria had to be satisfied with the silver rank. The women's team from Carinthia, consisting of Paula Pichler, Marijana Zaplotnik (both BSG Carinthian state government), Helga Frank and Barbara Wakonig (SPG ÖGKK/DAKC), took eighth place in their category.

In the tandem mixed competitions, Carinthia played with two couples: Beate Puschmann and Rupert Bicking were already eliminating in the first round. Barbara Wakonig and Werner Rössler, on the other hand, reached the quarter-finals, but had to give up after two exciting Sudden-Victory duels.
The award ceremony was carried out by the responsible persons of the ASKÖ, including the state manager LAbg. Günter Leiakham and ASKÖ federal officer Erwin Eder. All participants and placed were honored for their services.

Roman Leitner from the KSK Klagenfurt-Magdalensberg fought silver in the general class of men, with a total number of 610 bowling. The gold medal went to Claudiu Boanta from the 1st KSK Gem. Wiener Neustadt with 639 bowling.
