Gifts with heart: shoe boxes for the needy in Wolfsberg
The "Christmas in the shoebox" campaign is active again this year and offers a great way to give children a pleasure in need. This worldwide initiative of Samaritan's Purse invites people in the region to hand over lovingly packed shoe boxes full of gifts. These are boxes in the size of around 30 x 20 x 10 centimeters that are carefully filled with new and age -appropriate articles.
The thought behind the campaign is to appreciate the children who receive the packages and give them a piece of Christmas joy. "The motto 'Love can be packed' is underlined that this is not just ordinary relief goods, but real gifts," explains Angelika Herter-Erjavc from Life Church. It is important that the gifts have a special wow effect, for example in the form of toys or other surprises that conjure up a smile on the recipient's face.
delivery locations and instructions
The shoe boxes can be submitted at various points in Wolfsberg: in the Mamiladen, at the San Damiano library and in the Life Church. Some rules should be observed when preparing the boxes. Only new articles may be packed, whereby the selection of clothing, school and painting utensils as well as hygiene articles and quality toys should be made. Used items are not permitted.
A very special focus applies to the sweets, which often represent logistical challenges when shipping to the target country. If you are put in, it should be durable by at least March of the coming year to avoid possible problems. If you want to participate, you will also be asked for a donation of 10.93 euros to cover the costs for the prefabricated boxes as well as for transport and promotion.
With this action, a strong sign of connection and charity is set. At a time when many children live in need, it is important to actively support such initiatives. The possibility of putting a smile on the face of children from the Eastern Bloc should not remain unused. Give joy and help to make this action a full success.
