Share wishes: Villacher Christmas tree brings joy in difficult times

The Christmas wish tree in the Villach town hall symbolizes the real meaning of Christmas: community, empathy and the sharing of joy. In this festive time, we can remember that not everyone can look into the holidays radiantly. Many people see themselves in difficult situations and often even expect small gifts in vain.

"Our wishes are an excellent opportunity to make big changes with small gestures. The Villacher: Inside, show how much passion is in our city every year by fulfilling the client's heart's desires: Inside the ARGE social," said Mayor Günther Albel .

The city of the city

This year the wishes were festively decorated by the children of the Kindergarten Völkendorf. During the ceremonial handover, representatives of the ARGE social, Marie Madeleine Felsberger and Nina Winkler, were also present. Many straw stars hang on the tree in the foyer of the town hall, on which the anonymized wishes are noted. These wishes are often very simple things, such as a good body cream, chocolate, fragrance candles or a book.

"Any wish, however small he may appear, can put a smile on a face when giving," emphasized social officer Vice Mayor Gerda Sandriesser . The Villacher: Inside, it is cordially invited to take one of the stars off the tree, to fulfill the wish and to hand over the lovingly packaged gift at the ARGE social in Klagenfurter Strasse by December 10th at the latest. It is important to add the straw star so that the wish can also be identified.

"We are already thanking everyone who participates in this great campaign - both the committed citizens: inside and the employees: inside of the magistrate who are there every year with a lot of enthusiasm," add Albel and Sandrießer. This is intended to set a sign again that humanity and support are very important even in difficult times.

The action aims to make the people in need in the region a little joy and shows impressively how communal action is lived in the city of Villach.
