Serious traffic accident in Goggerwenig: two seriously injured
On Friday afternoon, a devastating traffic accident occurred in the small town of Goggerwenig, which belongs to the municipality of St. Georgen am Längsee, in the St. Veit district. Two vehicles collapsed head -on on the Seeberg federal road, which led to serious injuries to the occupants.
The first rescuers who hurried to the scene of the accident were eyewitnesses that immediately started the rescue chain and provided first aid. The emergency call was received at 3:27 p.m. by the Fire Brigade Launsdorf, St. Donat, St. Veit/Glan and Thalsdorf.

When the emergency services arrived, they found a person on the street who apparently was thrown out of the vehicle in the accident. This person was seriously injured and not accessible. In addition, the second vehicle was about 50 meters away, where another inmate was trapped. This was also not accessible. In order to ensure the most gentle rescue, the fire brigade removed the roof of the car in consultation with the emergency doctor.
Both affected were living with life -threatening injuries. They received emergency medical care on site before they were brought to the Klagenfurt Clinic for further treatment. In addition to the volunteer fire departments, the emergency services also included the police, the Red Cross and the emergency doctor helicopter Christophorus 11.
