in the south of Austria, in the heart of the Villach technology park, a new milestone was celebrated in training and further education on Monday, October 14, 2024: the campus "Campo". This modern building is the new home for training offers and qualifies specialists who are indispensable for future development on the Carinthian labor market.

The official opening of the three -story campus fell after a one -year construction process that started in September 2023. With a total area of around 2,850 square meters, "Campo" is not just an extension, but an important center for future specialists. On this area you will find modern workshops, teaching halls, laboratory rooms and office space that create an innovative learning environment.

Around 9 million euros were invested in this ambitious project by the Carinthian social partners. With the help of the State of Carinthia, the city of Villach and the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment and Technology, this dream could be implemented into reality. The ground floor of the new building is used by Infineon Austria, one of the main actors in the region who acts in chipport.

The "Campo" campus is expanding the existing training area of GPS (non -profit personnel service GmbH) and offers space for over 300 training positions. This initiative is not only a step for the training of young people, but also a building block to strengthen the regional labor market by training qualified specialists with the latest knowledge and technology.

Infineon has provided 1,500 square meters of the campus for a company apprenticeship campus, which is equipped with state -of -the -art technology. Together with the Technical Academy of Carinthia, apprentices are trained in electrical engineering and metal technology, with a focus on high-tech applications. These extraordinary courses have already led to a doubling of the training positions, which is particularly positive, since a quarter of the apprentices taken are young women.

In addition, the areas of the WiFi Carinthia and BFI Carinthia are used, which together occupy around 1,100 square meters and focus on future -oriented training directions such as IT and care. This creates a versatile educational offer that meets the needs of the labor market.

The architecturally appealing foyer of the "Campo" is designed as a common area and offers a friendly and inviting atmosphere for the trainees. The building was built energy -efficiently with a focus on sustainability and is supplied by district heating and photovoltaic systems.

For the catering of the students, the existing gastronomy will be redesigned as a cafeteria by the end of October to ensure enough space for the increasing figures to trainees.

The voices of regional politicians and managers are consistently positive. Governor Peter Kaiser emphasizes that this will invest in the skills and skills of the young generation. Mayor Günther Albel and the CEO of Infineon Austria Technologies, Sabine Herlitschka, also emphasize the importance of such training centers for the future of the region.
