Triumph about the hill: Tschofenig enthusiastic with a tour!
Oberstdorf, Deutschland - On December 29, 2024, the Carinthian ski jumper Daniel Tschofenig entered the spotlight during the four -hill tour in Oberstdorf (Bavaria). He took third place in the exciting competition, which was not only a great success for him, but also part of a remarkable Austrian triumph. The victory went to Stefan Kraft, who showed his dominance with two excellent jumps (138 meters and 135.5 meters). Jan Hörl followed in second place with also impressive performances (134.5 meters and 135 meters). Tschofenig impressed the spectators with a last jump of 140.5 meters and thus secured the bronze medal. So it was the first Austrian victory in Oberstdorf since 2016, and the ÖSV eagle performed a strong performance with further placements among the top ten, such as Klick Kärnten reported.
In an interview after the competition, Tschofenig spoke about the challenges of the qualification round: "It was extremely challenging, I fought with the ski jump. But it clicked in the competition." Despite initial difficulties in the first round, he enjoyed his surprising turn in the competition. In addition, Tschofenig expressed his sympathy for Stefan Kraft, who had to wait a long time and was visible for everyone: "I don't know what the right decision would have been, it was certainly extremely difficult to sit as a leader at the top," said Tschofenig in an interview that put the emotions of the competition in the foreground, like OE24 reported.
