The Halle Eberstein: A new meeting point for sports and culture

In Eberstein there is a significant innovation. The once dilapidated ice rink is now being converted into a modern, energy -efficient and multifunctional sports facility. Under the name "Die Halle", this new place welcomes sports enthusiasts and visitors who are interested in a variety of activities. The official opening is planned for December 7th and a total of around one million euros was invested in this project.

Mayor Andreas Grabuschnig and the chairman of the ice stock sports and ice skating club Eberstein, Uwe Stelzer, invite all interested parties to the celebration. Project manager Michael Flajs sees the project not only as a structural measure, but also as an important step towards promoting community and sport in the entire environment.

sustainability in focus

The heart of this transformation is the installation of 256 photovoltaic modules that enable the hall to operate almost energy self-sufficient. Flajs emphasizes that the environmentally friendly renovation not only minimizes the ecological footprint, but also ensures sustainable use. In addition, a wide range of sporting offers is created, including ice skating, badminton, volleyball and many other disciplines. There is also space for cultural events such as readings or dance evenings.

At the opening, there should be a special highlight for visitors: on both days, the ice skating areas for young and old are accessible free of charge, and a rental of ice skating material will also be available. This should ensure that everyone has the opportunity to try out the new hall and to enjoy the diverse offers.

The renovated hall will not only represent a sports center, but also a place of exchange, cultural life and leisure activities. The inter -municipal financing by the municipalities of Klein St. Paul and Hüttenberg shows the will of the region to support such a project together.

The entire project is referred to as the "heart project" by Flajs, who has put countless volunteer hours in planning and implementation in the past two years. "It would be the most beautiful if our children hopefully thank us with sparkling eyes," he says of his anticipation for the opening.

For everyone who is interested in the offers and the supporting program during the opening, there are some details here: On Saturday, December 7th, the celebration begins at 10 a.m. with speeches, blessing and musical interludes, followed by a public children's ice skating. A morning pint will take place with entertainment on Sunday at 11 a.m. before the ice disco appeals to the young and old alike.

The entire hall can also be leased, including gastronomy, which opens up additional options for private events. All of these elements summarize the new hall promises to become a place that connects generations and actively contributes to the quality of life in Eberstein.
