Six dog puppies in Bulgarian minibus discovered on A1 in Upper Austria
Six dog puppies were discovered in a Bulgarian minibus on the A1 in Upper Austria, which were smuggled under terrible conditions. The small animals were sometimes hidden between furniture and cried together in far too small boxes. A puppy was even transported to tight plastic boxes that were only tied together with cords.
The two occupants of the small bus, 24 and 28 years old from Macedonia, stated that they had received the puppies from a friend in Bulgaria to bring them to Germany to a buyer. On the way, the puppies had no water since the Hungarian border. One of the inmates claimed to have ordered the animals about an official website that was not named.
The customs officials released the puppies, took them into their care and prompted a security deposit of 3,000 euros from the vehicle occupants. The dog puppies were handed over to the ICARA animal rescue and brought to the Linz animal shelter.
