An exciting sporting spectacle becomes a reality at Lake Wörthersee! From July 22nd to 27th, 2025, a large multisport event including a beach volleyball tournament should take place in Pörtschach and Velden. But now there were surprising turns. The long -time main sponsor A1, as ORF Carinthia , has withdrawn his support for the event, which endangers the event. Hannes Jagerhofer, who has shaped the beach volleyball event in Klagenfurt for over two decades, expressed that this short-term decision undermines the financial basis of the event and that the usual high quality cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, it was decided to postpone the event to 2026.

A new concept for multisport event series

But there are also bright spots: Jagerhofer uses this time to create a sustainable basis for the future of the event. He plans the return of beach volleyball to Carinthia and the introduction of the "MultiSport Event Series". With different disciplines, this new format becomes an absolute highlight. The event is rolled out as a dream with top -class carets in the "Iconic Locations" of Pörtschach and Velden, such as Falstaff reported. In addition to beach volleyball, speed climbing and water sports events are also planned to address international standards.

The opening ceremony of the new format is planned for July 22, 2025, and the stadium in Pörtschach is expanded from 1,500 to 4,600 seats. The unique combination of world and European Cup competitions should guarantee that the athletes will fight for ranking points and prize money. Jagerhofer is confident that this innovative event will arouse great interest not only in Austria, but also internationally, including in Barcelona and Saudi Arabia. With his experience and foresight, he sees the "MultiSport Event Series" as a modern answer to the zeitgeist, which is made attractive for fans as well as for TV and digital channels.
