Accident in Grafenstein: woman and daughters injured in collision

On October 19, 2024, there was a traffic accident near Grafenstein, which caused several participants and significant material damage. At 4:30 p.m., a 45-year-old woman from the Klagenfurt Land district steered her vehicle on the state road L116, on the way from Althofen towards Grafenstein. She was accompanied by her two 15-year-old daughters. At the same moment, a 62-year-old man from the Völkermarkt district approached his car. In a right curve, the man came across the middle of the road and crashed into the oncoming vehicle of the woman.

After the collision, the woman's car was pressed against the guiding bag and came to a standstill a few meters later. Fortunately, the driver and her daughters were only slightly injured and had to be brought to the UKH Klagenfurt for observation. In contrast, the driver of the other vehicle was not injured, and the alcoho tests carried out showed no evidence of alcohol influence.

The accident recording revealed that considerable damage to property had occurred on both vehicles. The Grafenstein volunteer fire brigade was in use to bind out the expired oil and clean the road. Due to the clean -up work, the traffic on the L116 had to be stopped alternately, which led to further disabilities.
