Specialist School Klagenfurt: On the way to the competence center until 2030
The specialist vocational school Klagenfurt is facing a fundamental transformation. The school will be expanded into a competence center by 2030, which should not only improve the training of the students, but also to ensure more efficient use of resources and personnel. A significant step in this process is the move of two apprenticeships from the Ferlach school to Klagenfurt, which not only creates space, but also increases the quality of training.
The conversion will take place in several phases, starting with a first construction phase, which is expected to be completed by 2026. The estimated costs for this first section amount to around 1.7 million euros for the construction work and almost one million euros for the establishment of the new rooms. The aim is to bring workshops and laboratories to the latest state of the art and to modernize the entire school building. The infrastructure is designed in such a way that it meets the requirements of today's vocational training.
investment in education
With this initiative, Klagenfurt becomes a competence center for numerous professions, including for commercial and beauty professions, but also for specific trades such as carpentry, electrical engineering and meat processing. In addition, the apprenticeships "gunsmith" and "weapons mechanic" are moved from the crowded school in Ferlach to Klagenfurt. The current infrastructure in Ferlach is outdated and can no longer meet the requirements, which is why this move is considered necessary. The creation of a modern and high -quality educational infrastructure plays a central role in vocational training in Carinthia. Companies in the region benefit directly from well -trained specialists who are trained by these measures. This project will not only strengthen the Klagenfurt training location, but could also increase the competitiveness of the regional economy in the long term by increasing the number of qualified workers.
The investment in the Klagenfurt specialist school is therefore not only a step towards better training, but also a significant contribution to the economic development of the entire region. Details on the progress and the course of the project will be expected in the future, while the first construction work is already being planned. Further information can can be read here .
