Wolf in the Hermagor district: shooting in accordance with the new regulation
In the Hermagor district, a so -called risk wolf was killed on Friday, which was repeatedly near residential buildings. This shooting attracts attention because it was carried out as part of the Carinthian Wolf Ordinance, which sets specific rules for dealing with wolves.
The report on the shooting was forwarded to the Risshotline of the State of Carinthia on Saturday. Experts immediately examined the case, which complied with the legally prescribed registration deadline. The ordinance allows such wolves that, despite trying to displace, keep coming back close to people and their living rooms.
regulations on wolf protection
wolves, which often appear in the environment of settlements, represent a special challenge for the authorities. The Carinthian risk wolf regulation stipulates that the shooting may only be carried out within a certain ten kilometer radius around the last known scanning location. In this case the wolf was killed after these conditions were met.
The responsible entitlements of hunting have been informed that the possibility of still taking wolves in the affected area has currently gone out. This measure aims to protect the security of the residents and to ensure a responsible handling of the wolf population.
