Serious traffic accident in St. Stefan: Two injuries and great commitment of the fire brigades
A serious traffic accident caused excitement in the Hermagor district on Thursday morning. At around 10.30 a.m., two cars collided frontally on Gailtal Straße B 111, near St. Stefan im Gailtal. The incident occurred during the trip of a 62-year-old man from the Villach Land and a 60-year-old man from Villach.
At the meeting, both drivers were seriously injured and had to be brought to the Villach State Hospital after the immediate emergency medical care. The first witness reports indicate that the 62-year-old may have got too far left, which led to the serious accident. Both vehicles suffered considerable property damage.

The fire brigade was also required: a total of seven fire departments with around 65 emergency services were mobilized to secure the scene of the accident and to redirect the traffic. During the occurrence of the cause of the accident, the entire traffic between Köstendorf and St. Stefan was temporarily redirected to facilitate the rescue and salvage measures.
