Public traffic in the Gailtal: A big step towards mobility
The transport connection in the Gailtal is significantly improved: From December 15, 2024, significant changes will come into force in public transport. The bus offer between Hermagor and Villach is doubled, which brings significant relief for commuters and students.
A remarkable part of this expansion is the introduction of a new S-bus line that will take up its operation on December 16. The new S-Bus line will drive between Hermagor and Villach every half hour, which offers travelers more flexibility and shorter waiting times. This line is offered in connection with a harmonized S-Bahn connection, which guarantees a total of 62 connections on working days. The new SB4 bus will also run over the highway every hour between Nötsch and Villach Warmbad and hold at all stops along the route.
extensions in the Dobratsch region
In parallel to these bus lines, new traffic for the Dobratsch region will also be introduced from December 15th. This affects the south side along the federal road, where the municipalities of Feistritz/Gail, Hohenurn and Arnoldstein will benefit from a daily, high -grade offer. This measure represents the third phase of a large -scale expansion offensive in the Gailtal, which is completed in summer 2024 with a further expansion on the Villach - Bad Bleiberg - Nötsch.In Arnoldstein, a new mobility hob will also be created. For this purpose, the train station and the surrounding bus stops are modernized and barrier -free. This significantly improves the connection between bus and train, which is a considerable relief for all passengers. The lines affected by the expansion will in future offer a total number of 963,000 kilometers of offer, a more than doubled range compared to the previous offer.

For everyone who regularly uses public transport, the Carinthia Ticket is an attractive option. With this ticket, users have access to all regional bus lines, express buses as well as local and long-distance trains throughout Carinthia to Lienz. City traffic in Klagenfurt and Villach is also included. Micro-ÖV offers such as the micro bus: Si in Villach and the Postbus Shuttle in the regions of South Carinthia, Ossiacher See and Techelsberg are also part of the offer.
