Aviation training: Villacher pioneers are preparing!
Klagenfurt, Österreich - On June 25, 2025, the Villacher pioneers and Klagenfurt elite soldiers take part in a comprehensive training that prepares for future operations at home and abroad. This training, which deals intensively with the cooperation with helicopters, includes instructions, rapprochement as well as fast food and retire. The exercises are designed to train the soldiers in the transport of men, weapons and equipment and to enable the implementation of parachuts from helicopters and a PC6 area aircraft. This trains practical skills that are essential for the military service.
The training also includes battle scenarios that take place after immediate air landing and in urban environments. The planned night flights, which will take place from June 24th to June 30th to July 3, 2025, are particularly remarkable. The flight times are scheduled daily from around 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Klagenfurt, Klagenfurt-Land, St. Veit/Glan, Villach, Villach-Land and Hermagor. The helicopters are stationed in the Khevenheven barracks, and the population is pointed out that there can be increased noise due to helicopters, weather-related changes are also possible.
modern parachute technology
The training also includes military sky jumping, which is based on automatic opening systems, as well as on round cap umbrella systems, as reported by International Airborne Operations® . The operations are typically intended for larger units that form bridgeheads, for example. For special units, free fall jumps with manual opening are carried out, which are essential, for example, for command or educational operations.
The training for military parachuting comprises three main qualifications. The first qualification applies to jumpers, which are trained on round cap parachute systems with automatic opening and are trained at a national air country school such as the Bundeswehr in Altenstadt, Bavaria. The second and third qualifications include devices that are interpreted for the free case with higher setting heights and are conveyed in special courses. After successful training, the participants receive a jumping badge and a corresponding certificate.
international cooperation and trends
Military parachut training is part of a larger trend in which approximately 90% of the airland units use round cap parachute systems with automatic opening. However, the weight of free fall specialists is growing steadily. International cooperation is also an important part of the training, with guest departure teams from other nations participating in operations and being deducted from aircraft of the host units.
For the awarding of authentic military parachute jump badge, at least two of the three requirements must be met in accordance with NATO regulations, including the deducting staff, the aircraft and the parachute jump system.
