In Vienna: vaccination campaigns at the Pride and Danube Island Festival - be there!

Lichtenfelsgasse 1–3, 1010 Wien, Österreich - The city of Vienna starts today, on June 14, 2025, a vaccination campaign as part of two important events: the Vienna Pride and the Vienna Danube Island Festival. This initiative aims to make the citizens uncomplicated vaccination offers and to strengthen health awareness. Vaccinations are available in Lichtenfelsgasse 1–3 on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on the security island at the Danube Island Festival on June 21 and 22 between 12:00 and 5:00 p.m.

The vaccinations offered are varied. This includes the free HPV vaccination for people between the ages of 9 and 30, the TBE vaccination against ticks, which is subject to a fee, as well as the free vaccination against MPOX (monkeys). For the HPV vaccination, it is necessary to show evidence of prior priority until the 30th birthday. When it comes to TBE vaccination, the costs vary depending on the age group and whether there is an Austrian social security number. Vaccination for children and adolescents up to 15 years costs between 28.25 euros and 32.75 euros, while adults have to pay the same price range.

Details about the vaccination campaigns

The vaccination campaign at Vienna Pride offers the opportunity to be immunized against HPV, TBE and MPOX. The Gardasil 9 vaccine is used for the HPV vaccination. If you bring a child under the age of 14, you have to bring a person to accompany you. The cost of TBE vaccination also includes an additional vaccination fee of 12.67 euros.

At the Vienna Donauinselfest, a free MMR vaccination (mumps, measles, grids) is also offered to further improve immunological protective measures. The City of Vienna informs that self-pamping vaccines are not administered and that payments are accepted exclusively through a profit certificate or online banking. Cash or card payments are excluded.

vaccination and health: a European concern

These vaccination campaigns are part of a more comprehensive trend in Europe, which deals with the improvement of the vaccination rates and the control of vaccination prevention diseases. The World Health Organization (WHO) pursues this with a new data dashboard, the progress in various areas Missd, including the vaccination rates and the monitoring of illness. An important goal of the EIA 2030 is the elimination of measles and rubella in all 53 Member States. The WHO has worked closely with the Member States to improve the data technology exchange and review, which is supported by the annual progress reports on the EIA 2030.

The initiative of the City of Vienna reflects the need to make vaccination offers accessible and appealing, especially in large events where people come together. Health education and vaccination strategies are crucial to raise the general level of health and to better protect the population.

Further information on the specific vaccination offers can be found on the Vienna Vienna Vaccination Service. Here interested parties can specifically find out about the various vaccines and their conditions.

The City of Vienna shows with these vaccination campaigns a proactive commitment to the health of its citizens and sets a sign of a more conscious handling of vaccinations in the community.
