Heimschuher women celebrate Advent: tradition and community combined!
Heimschuh, Österreich - The women's movement in home shoe opened the Advent time with a festive afternoon in the Guardian Angelhalle, to which many women had come. Local director Josefine Ornig welcomed numerous guests of honor, including Mayor Alfred Lenz and Vice Mayor Karl Oswald, who praised the tireless efforts of women for the community. Atmospheric stories about Advent were read in a contemplative atmosphere, while Ornig provided musical accompaniment with her chordzither. A special surprise were the over 50 candles, which were decorated by board member Hildegard Reich and distributed as a pre-Christmas present, which was rewarded by the local director with a small present.
Another highlight of the afternoon was the subsequent service in the Guardian Angel Church, which was also dedicated to the late members of the women's movement. This ceremony illustrated the strong cohesion and commitment of the Heimschuher women who are not only active in the community, but are also deeply rooted in tradition. As Heimschuh.at , an independent home shoe dirndl dress was also developed, which was caused by a sewing course. 59 women took part and created both everyday and festive dirndls who are on the local costume, the traditional winemaker dirndl.
These new dirndl dresses were proudly presented in the same hall on March 21st and presented as part of a solemn service. This shows the creative and cultural commitment of the women's movement, which keeps traditions alive and at the same time brings new impetus to domestic costume fashion. The Advent celebration was therefore not only a look back at the previous months, but also an outlook on the continuation and preservation of traditions in home shoes that are firmly anchored in rural life.
