Haidershofner on a big bike tour: from Djerba to the Sahara!

Djerba, Tunesien - Martin Mühlberger from Haidershofen, a passionate adventurer, went on a spectacular bike tour through Tunisia on February 11, 2022. The trip began for him with an 870 kilometer journey to Genoa, followed by a 25-hour ferry crossing to Tunis. From there we continued via Hammamet to Djerba, where he wants to start his two -month bike tour on February 16. This route will lead him over 1,200 kilometers to the Algerian border and through picturesque sand slopes along the Shot El Djaried, to Kebili and back to Djerba, report noe.orf.at .

The Oasis Rally is imminent

But the adventure for the 60-year-old Mühlberger does not end with the return to his starting point. It is planned to take part in the Oasis Rally organized by Heinz Kinigardner after two rest days on March 1, for which he reached an impressive sixth place last year. This rally leads over 1,350 kilometers through challenging off-road routes and sandy dunes. Mühlberger is already looking forward to the upcoming challenges and reports: "Despite a certain goosebumps, I'm really looking forward to this adventure."

His previous experiences are not only sporty - last time he cycled over 3,000 kilometers from Austria to Santiago de Compostela, while organizing a tour from the North Cape to Haidershofen for his 60th birthday. The highlight of this last trip was the donation for a little girl with a serious muscle disease, which Mühlberger's Altruistic Spirit underlines. The NÖN readers can follow his trips online, since he will regularly report on the course of his bike tour and the subsequent rally, such as NÖN reported.
