Great Syria demonstration in Vienna: for freedom and return!
Wien, Österreich - On Sunday, hundreds of Syrians gathered in downtown Vienna to celebrate the fall of the Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad. Before the State Opera, the participants waved Syrian flags with the slogan "Free Syria". According to the police, around 3,000 people were registered for demonstration. The campaign was organized by the "Free Syrian Community in Austria in solidarity with the Syrian Revolution" and aimed to support the return of the displaced people to their liberated villages, such as Oe24 reported.
At the same time in Syria, violence escalated dramatically. At least 330 people were killed in the rebel stronghold of Homs during an hour -long shelling of residential areas by government troops and over 1000. Activists reported war -like conditions, while the international community is struggling for a solution in the World Security Council. The Situation is so tense that the Russian government provides clear conditions for a possible consent to a resolution that is intended to terminate violence in Syria. This was emphasized in a report by Weser-Kurier
protested reported that the government troops particularly targeted the Al-Chalidija district, a center of resistance. In response to the brutal attacks, the opposition announced that the capital Damascus resigned. This wave of violence occurs at a particularly symbolic time, since many Syrian citizens commemorate the cruel massacre in Hama 30 years ago, in which tens of thousands of people died. According to the UN, protests in Syria, which have been going on since March 2011, have requested over 5,600 fatalities, whereby human rights activists speak of much higher numbers
