FPÖ terminates suspicion against hacker: health crisis intensifies!
At a press conference in the town hall, the Viennese FPÖ expressed extensive criticism of the social and health system. Non -managing city council Dominik Nepp emphasized that there were "no progress" in the hospitals and referred to the serious problems with which the health system is confronted. According to the NPP, due to a blatant lack of nursing staff between 750 and 850 hospital beds, the care of the patients cannot be proven. This condition was compared to the empty clinic Floridsdorf, which was used as an example of the predicament.
NPP continued that there were fewer operations overall and that the waiting times are increasing for necessary interventions. Problems such as bed locks, the use of gang beds and the general overload of health personnel were also addressed. In addition, he criticized the minimum security, which means that large families with working parents receive less support than families who rely on minimum security. In this context, the FPÖ called for an expansion of health and nursing staff.
motion of no confidence against city council Hacker
In the course of this criticism, the FPÖ announced that it would make a request for no confidence in September against the social and health councilor Peter Hacker. 25 signatures are necessary for this application, three are currently missing. Maximilian Krauss, the FPÖ Vienna club chairman, appealed to the Wiener ÖVP to support the application. The FPÖ had already made a similar application in September 2024, which, however, did not find a majority in the municipal council. These developments are in the context of the broader challenges that the Austrian health system faces. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the health system is regularly analyzed by the European Observatory for Health Systems and Health Policy. The series “Health Systems in Change” offers country profiles that aim to make developments and reforms comparable in the health systems. Austria was last analyzed in 2018/2019, whereby the reports provide important information about the organization, financing and performance of the system.
At the center of the reforms that have been implemented since 2013, the new control system "target control health" is, the aim of which is to improve coordination between the different levels of government and self-government organs. This underlines the need for increased cooperation in the health sector in order to meet the increasing requirements.
In view of the current challenges, the FPÖ not only calls for changes in the political area, but also in -depth reforms that are supposed to stabilize the health system in Vienna and beyond. For further information on the analysis of the Austrian health system, the reports can be viewed on the official website of the Ministry of Social Affairs (https://www.social ministerium.gv.at/themen/Gesundheit/gesundheitssystem/Gesundeberichte/das-oesterreich-gesundheitsystem-ar Developments on wien.orf.at can be followed.
