A shocking incident occurred during a long-haul flight from Melbourne to Doha with Qatar Airways. An Australian couple, consisting of Mitchell Ring and his wife Jennifer Colin, were forced to spend four hours next to the body of a deceased woman. Prior to the tragedy, the crew had attempted to transfer the deceased to business class but was unsuccessful, according to Ring's statement to Australian broadcaster Nine News. Eventually the body was placed next to rings as no other seats were available, putting the two passengers in an extremely uncomfortable situation.

Mitchell Ring described flight attendants initially showing frustration when their efforts to move the deceased woman to another seat failed. Ring describes having to stay in his seat for the entire duration of the flight as “not nice”. According to reports, he was on his way to Venice with his wife when they came across this shocking scene. After landing in Doha, they waited for paramedics and police to sort out the situation while still sitting next to the dead man.

Jennifer Colin then criticized the airline and called for a better protocol for dealing with such incidents on board.
