Holiday fun in Porcia Castle: Creative adventure for children!
In August 2025, the Spittal region expects an exciting holiday program for children in Porcia Castle. The Muki holiday program will take place from Monday, August 4th to Wednesday, August 6th. Children aged 5 to 9 years from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. can take part in activities every day that include playing, music and creativity. The event is headed by music teacher Theresa Sima and the teacher Evelyn Köfer and takes place in cooperation with the Porcia comedy games. A special focus is on creative and playful conveying culture and history, which makes the program particularly enriching. The contribution to the expenses for the three days is 30 euros and the number of participants is limited. A binding registration is by email to jasmin.sima@spittal-drau.at required.
In addition to the holiday program in Porcia Castle, the "Muki - Museum for Children" starts another holiday offer in August, which is also aimed at children between 5 and 9 years old. This program will take place from August 5th to 8th, 2024. Here, among other things, a journey of discovery into the past and fantasy trips are on the program. Children can look forward to exciting activities, such as tinkering aircraft and researching the castle and the city park, supported by actors of the Porcia ensemble. The daily event in the Museum of Folk Culture begins at 1 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m. The contribution to the expenses for this program is 20 euros per child, registration is also required, by phone or by email.
Promotion of creativity and social skills
The holiday programs in Spittal are part of a larger trend that focuses on promoting creativity and social skills in children. The Kinderland Foundation also plays a role here, which offers pedagogically supervised holiday offers for children and young people with and without migration and escape experience. The foundation creates stimulating learning environments that promote important skills. The program phase currently has the title "Words as the key to the world" and includes numerous model projects that have been started since 2019.
In these programs, the focus is on reading and orthography competence of primary school children. The offers aim to expand the reading and writing skills as well as the understanding of text and the expression capacity of the children in a creative and playful way. The social coexistence and teamwork of the children are also strengthened through activities such as writing their own books, writing comics and short stories as well as the development of plays.
Overall, the programs in Spittal not only offer fun and creative development, but also a valuable promotion of important skills that children can support on their future life.
