Dramatic descent: Car crashes seven meters deep in Villach!

On June 18, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on Villacher Alpenstrasse in the Villach-Stadt district around 6:30 p.m. A 17-year-old driver from the Villach-Land district lost control of her vehicle, which led to a dramatic accident. According to initial investigations, excessive speed was the main cause of loss of control in a left -wing curve.

The course of the accident was formed as follows: the vehicle skidded, touched a street control and roamed an oncoming car. Finally, the vehicle crashed down a steep embankment about seven meters and only came to a standstill on a tree. There were a total of four people in the driver's car.

The driver and a 17-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries, while two other inmates aged 17 and 15 remained unharmed. The driver of the oncoming vehicle was able to stop in time and was also unharmed. Fortunately, the alcohol tests were negative in both drivers.

To support the accident and recovery of the vehicle, the Villach main fire station and the fire brigade Judendorf and Möltschach were alerted. 30 emergency services were used in a total of eight vehicles. Due to the accident recording, Villacher Alpenstraße was temporarily completely blocked.
