green freedom as a source of quality of life
Green freedom gain in importance in the urban development discussion. According to the information from offer not only an improvement of the urban climate, but also carry the quality of living and stay. These areas have positive effects on the physical and mental health of citizens.
However, there is a lack of strategic and sustainable development of green and open spaces in many cities. The maintenance of such systems is often considered expensive, which leads to a reduced maintenance effort and fewer new green areas. Although the importance of urban greens has increased in recent years, the challenge remains to integrate these areas into integrative urban development.
In this context, the Grünzug Berresgasse is further designed and connects the park to the Hirschstetten bathing pond. The last areas that previously served as a construction site warehouse are now being renatured and provided with a footpath. The first greening work will begin in the summer of 2024, and additional trees are to be planted in autumn, so that around 10,000 square meters of newly accessible green space will be created.
