Daniel Sanders triumphs at the Dakar 2025 Rally - historian!
In a spectacular finale of the 47th Rally Dakar in Saudi Arabia, the Australian KTM driver Daniel Sanders won his first overall victory. On Friday, the last day of the race, Sanders asserted himself on the twelfth and last stage and completed the legendary desert ralley in a good 53 hours. With a lead of 8:50 minutes to the Spaniard Tosha Shareina, who drives on Honda, Sanders triumphed without serious challenges. Tyrolean Tobias Ebster secured its outstanding performance in the Rally2 class with a third place on this day and a total place, as from OE24 reported.
On the last day of the race, the drivers mastered a 70 -kilometer connection route followed by a 61 -kilometer short section. Despite a massive start that had the drivers started in groups, Sander's nerve strength showed and dominated from the start. He prevailed on the first checkpoint and left his pursuers behind. In addition to the success of Sanders, the South African Michael Buterty was able to win the last stage. The triumph of Sanders brings KTM the 21st overall victory at Dakar and the Motor sports director Pit Beirer was overjoyed to be over the team performance.
