Österreich - The countdown for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2026 has started. The ORF started the application process for the venue. Interested cities who want to apply for the honor have until July 4, 2025 to fill out a nine-sided form and to send them to the ORF general. The requirements for the exhibition sites are crucial for the application. The applicants must ensure that the hall is sound and light-contained and air-conditioned and has a minimum height of around 15 meters. A public version of around 10,000 people is also required, while the "Green Room" must be housed in the immediate vicinity of about 300 people. The ORF general director Roland Weißmann made it clear that the framework conditions are comparable to those of 2015. The ORF adds that the event site must be available exclusively.
