Conchita Wurst wants to go to the villain: an eerie acting dream!

Wien, Österreich - Tom Neuwirth, known as Conchita Wurst, wants to establish itself as an actor in the world of film. On the way there, he expresses the desire to be "really angry" and has a particular interest in the human psyche. At the latest since his appearance in the play "Luziwuzi" in Vienna, in which he plays the Austrian Archduke Ludwig Viktor, who is described as a free spirit with "special tendencies", it is clear that he sees this role as an introduction to acting. Neuwirth sees parallels between himself and Ludwig Viktor, although he has not completed any classic acting training. In addition to this theater performance, he can also be seen in the vampire film "The Blood Countess", where he plays the role of a sober master of ceremonies who leads a vampire ball. He also sings in a terzett that partly corresponds to his own identity.

The film "The Blood Countess" is based on the eerie legend of Archsébet Báthory, who lived and accused of murdering girls in the 17th century to use her blood for eternal youth. This associative sheet of the human psyche and the topic of evil ensures an exciting connection to Neuwirths ambitions in drama.

acting debut and international cooperation

Neuwirth's acting debut is a central element in the staging of the film "The Blood Countess", which is considered a confused vampirmystery. Director Ulrike Ottinger, a renowned filmmaker of the German Neue Welle, direction the leading role of Countess Elizabeth Báthory. Huppert is known for her strong and multifaceted representations and brings an additional depth into the already complex figure of the blood countess. The global and US sales are taken over by Magnify, whereby the film is currently in post-production.

The script comes from Ottinger in cooperation with the Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek, which gives the project a special literary touch. In addition to Neuwirth and Huppert, Birgit Minichmayr, Lars Eidinger, Thomas Schubert and André Jung are also part of the cast. The plot of the film follows Báthory and her servant on a baroque search through Vienna to find a red elixir of life. The combination of historical material and fantastic elements gives the film a remarkable perspective.

parallels to mythology

The story about the blood countess Báthory also has roots in mythological stories. In the new series "Castlevania: Nocturne", Erzsébet Báthory is one of the strongest antagonists who gain immense forces by connecting to the Egyptian goddess Seghmet. Seghmet, known as the first vampire in mythology, is described as a warlike and healing form and is said to have been sent by the sun god RA to punish humanity. The connection between Báthory and Seghmet becomes another fascinating point that illustrates the topics of power and blood lust.

The representation of Báthory in this series, which goes beyond its strength and god equality, shows a profound reflection on the nature of evil - a topic that also controls new hosts and thus kidnaps the audience into a world full of secrets and fascination.

Conchita Wurst will appear on July 11th in Germany with the Mecklenburg State Chapel as part of the event "From Vienna with Love". The path from music to acting shows the development of Tom Neuwirth and gives a fascinating insight into his new artistic efforts.
