Tanja Frank says Adieu about sailing - what's next?
Burgenland, Österreich - Tanja Frank announced at a press conference that she will not continue her career in the Olympic sailing. In an emotional interview at Radio Burgenland, the 32-year-old said that after 12 years of intensive competitions she needs a break and wants to reorient itself professionally. Frank, who drew attention to the Sailing Association together with Thomas Zajac as an Olympic third and a silver medal at the 2018 World Cup, will no longer work in the sailing association to take a different career path, such as orf Burgenland reported.
But the passion for sailing remains: Frank recently climbed the Nacra17 boat again and is working hard on her return. Together with her new partner Lukas Haberl, she has big goals, even if a current injury stops her for the time being. "We are making quick and quick progress," said Frank optimistically about her training. Despite the cancellation for the Olympic Games, the athlete plans to move to a new campaign, while she wants to go back with full strength in March 2025, like BVZ reported. The team is determined to continue their successes from the past and to realize their dream of a new Olympic participation.
