Schandorf becomes the archaeological hotspot: New hill grave is being planned!

Schandorf, Österreich - In Schandorf, an archaeological highlight is built in the form of an impressive concrete hill grave, which is intended to serve as a modern show and multifunctional room to experience regional history. The innovative construction, which has a height of eight meters and a diameter of 20 meters, is realized with a cost framework of 590,000 euros, funded by the state of Burgenland. Governor Hans Peter Doskozil emphasizes the importance of this project: "We have to make our, also older, history visible", as ORF Burgenland reported. The official construction ceremony was recently celebrated with political heads and scientists who are campaigning for archaeological processing.

The hill grave becomes part of one of the largest hill burial fields in Central Europe, which looks back on a settlement history of over 8,000 years. With over 400 archaeological objects, this site has unique European relevance. In order to make the story new, a multimedia room is set up that gives visitors interactive insights into the past.
