Miss Germany 2025: Hamburg women show strength as founders
A new wind blows at Miss Germany, and Hamburg plays an outstanding role. In recent years, the competition has changed from a traditional beauty competition to a platform that celebrates strong women. In the new edition for 2025, three candidates from the Hanseatic city made it to the final: Edda Manteufel, Laura-Charlotte Lebrecht and Lucy Larbi.
from a motto that focused on external figures towards a solemn award for women who take responsibility - this is how Miss Germany's redefinition can be described. This realignment started in 2020. The application phase for the coming year began in June 2024 and included a selection of initially 90 women, which were further reduced by various stages. On February 22, 2025, the grand finale will take place in the Europa-Park in Rust, where the winner is also determined.
The categories of finalists
Edda Manteufel belongs to the "Female Founder" category. She is the founder of Isociety, a fashion label standing for inclusion. Through personal experience with her disabled sister, she has developed the goal of creating clothing that promotes visibility for people with disabilities. In her profile, she emphasizes the importance of bringing inclusion into the middle of society and at the same time helping companies to create jobs.
In the same category, Jil Berning also competes with her health startup Femote and Luisa Gallardo Leon, who ensures sweet moments with her online confectionery Unicake. It is noteworthy that with Edda Manteufel a Hamburg woman opens the box for including fashion.
In the "Female Mover" category, no Hamburg women are represented, but the north is strongly represented by Lu Zhang, a patent anchor from Lower Saxony, and Anna Hof, a craftswoman. In the "Female Leader" category, however, Hamburg has two women in the race: Laura-Charlotte Lebrecht and Lucy Larbi. Laura-Charlotte, known for her commitment to the Krombacher Group, is committed to strengthening women in management positions. Her motto is: "Successful leadership begins to stay true to yourself."
Lucy Larbi is a real bridge builder. Together with her brother, she runs the Akan Afrofusion restaurant and also works as an agile coach. Her focus is on understanding and combining people and organizations in order to strengthen their future viability. The diverse skills and background of the Hamburgers bring a breath of fresh air to the competition.
Together, this year's finalists not only stand for beauty, but also for intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit and social commitment. The event in the Europa-Park will undoubtedly become an exciting award for women who want to make real changes.
By the way, how the competition will develop, this will soon become apparent, because the tension increases until the winner is chosen. For more information and backgrounds on these impressive women, See the current reporting www.hamburg-startups.net .
