Young cyclists show their skills at the ADAC final in Eppelheim
Eppelheim. On Sunday, November 17th, the Capri Sonne Halle in Eppelheim becomes a hotspot for young cyclists. From 10 a.m., more than 100 boys and girls between the ages of eight and 15 take part in the North Baden final of the ADAC youth bike tournaments. At this event you can expect a challenging 200 meter long course that requires skill and precision. Among other things, the participants have to prove their skills in the one -handed, starting and keeping track.
The competitions are more than just a sporting event; They offer an educational experience. "The children learn in a playful way to control their bike even in difficult situations and to recognize dangerous situations at an early stage," explains a representative of the ADAC. Such skills are of great importance for safety in road traffic.
competition format and age groups
Overall, the children are divided into three age groups: the years 2015 and 2016 (group I), 2013 and 2014 (group II) and the years 2009 to 2012 (Group III). In addition to trophies, the winners of the respective age groups can also look forward to vouchers for the Europa-Park in Rust, a popular destination for many families.
This final run in Eppelheim is the result of months of preparation in which over 2,000 children took part in a total of 25 tournaments in Nordbaden. The final is organized by the volunteers of the MSC Eppelheim, who work tirelessly to provide a safe and fun environment for the young athletes.
The day will start with the official opening at 9:45 a.m. This is followed by the girls in group I at 10 a.m., followed by the boys of the same age at 11 a.m. From 12 p.m. the girls in Group II will show their skills. The completion of the competition is the joint run of all participants in Group III at 1:15 p.m. The award ceremonies are scheduled directly according to the respective runs.
An important aspect of this event is to promote traffic safety in children. By participating in the tournaments of the ADAC, young cyclists are not only challenged, they also learn to act responsibly and safely on road traffic. The materials for the course are provided by the ADAC free of charge, which increases accessibility and motivation to participate.
This competition is not only a way for the kids to test their skills, but also an opportunity to qualify for the Baden-Württemberg final in Herrenberg in February. The preparations will continue until then so that the North Baden bicycle champions can do their best.
