Oktoberfest in Eisenberg: Celebrate with music and beer despite defeat

Last Saturday the third Oktoberfest of SV Eberau took place in the Eisenberg Hall. Despite a disappointing defeat of the football team on the same weekend, visitors celebrated a happy and exuberant atmosphere. The event was accompanied musically by the Musikverein Eberau under the direction of Kapellmeister Andreas Cencsits, who provided a good mood with folk music and encouraged the guests to dance.

The hall was well filled and everyone present could look forward to an extensive culinary offer. The Gasthaus Ebner from Pinkafeld provided the guests with traditional dishes such as stilts, roast pork and white sausages. Various types of beer, including a famous Krügerl and Mass beer, provided refreshing drinks. Many of the celebrations came in festive costume, including dirndls and lederhosen, which contributed to the Oktoberfest atmosphere. Among the guests were also visitors from distant countries, including from Tyrol and Sweden who celebrated the Eberauer.

The beer tapping, an integral part of every Oktoberfest celebration, was carried out this year by Dechant Karl Schlögl, who also celebrated his birthday that evening. After a few humorous attempts, he finally managed to get the beer in the barrel to bubble. The first beer was tapped together with Mayor Johann Weber, Vice Mayor Maria Temmel and other guests of honor, which was taken up with a lot of cheers and joy.

After the ceremony, the band "Die Grisus" played and contributed to the exuberant celebration. The guests enjoyed themselves splendidly and enjoyed the opportunity to dance and celebrate until late at night. The wine food offered, in which wines from Eberau and the surrounding area could be tasted, was also very well received.

The event has again shown how important the Oktoberfest is for the region and that the traditions are kept alive. SV Eberau once again demonstrated that even in difficult sporting times you shouldn't lose sight of the fun and conviviality.
