On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, an important event took place in the Halls of the Ems Oberwart: the fourth MATP competition (Motor Activity Training Program) from Special Olympics Austria. This event was not just a competition, but a festival of joy and commitment organized by Special Olympics Burgenland and met with lively interest.

For the first time, 50 motivated athletes were welcomed this year: in the inside from Burgenland and Styria. Among the participants were visitors from the Dornau team, from "Save the child" in St. Margarethen, Caritas Haus St. Stephan in Oberpullendorf, the General Special School Oberwart, as well as other facilities such as the Caritas Haus Maria in German Tschanschendorf and the merciful brothers in Kainbach. An outstanding aspect of this competition was the introduction of MATP-Neu, a revised version of the usual stations. This innovation ensured that the participants were faced with fresh challenges and the event was upgraded as a whole. The positive feedback from the athletes confirmed the success of these adjustments.

The implementation of the competition was supported by around 30 students: Interior of the Federal Education Institute for Elementary Pedagogy (BAFEP) Oberwart. In addition to the organization and support of the ten stations, these young helpers took care of the physical well -being of the athletes: inside and visitors.
