Triple film pleasure in Oberpullendorf: a family cinema evening
As part of the Pullenals, there was a special event that came up with three impressive films for local film fans. The municipality of Oberpullendorf presented the short film "Silent Grusilie", in which the entire family can be seen. Joe and Jutta Driver as well as their children Oliver and Bettina show their acting talent in this eight -minute work in a fascinating way.
Then the satirical film "Vantias" was shown, which questions the conventional funeral rituals in a humorous and critical way. In this 20-minute cinematic work, Joe driver again plays the leading role, while Roswitha Fraller embodies the female protagonist. Jutta driver was responsible for the script and production and received the Austrian State Prize for amateur film in 1980 for this film, since it was considered "unconventional and refreshing".
A homage to the Family Driver
The short film "The Song of the Marriage", which was based on Friedrich Schiller's "Song of the Bell", was the end of the film evening. This film was also a success and was awarded the third prize at the ORF amateur film competition 1983. The entire driver clan-Joe, Karin Zieger, Oliver, Bettina, Johann driver Senior, Therese Supper, Gabi Schmidt, Sissy Szalai, Liane Lipovits, Marc-André Zieger, Tamara Zieger and Peter Halvax-was at work here and brought their talents to the big canvas.
A special highlight of the Pullenale takes place on October 13th when Jutta Träiber introduces her latest picture book "Eisbärs Eissalon" in the cinema. At 3 p.m. she will not only read from her book, but also present other new texts and thus give her literary skills for the best.
