Neusiedler students win competition with AI for sustainable shipping
A trio of students from the Neusiedl am See district has achieved remarkable success in the fourth national competition for artificial intelligence. These talented youngsters from HTL Spengergasse managed to convince the jury with their well thought -out project for international container shipping and take first place.
The competition, which is supported by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, is an important event in the Austrian scene of artificial intelligence. The jury consisted of a large number of experts, including experts from science, entrepreneurship and art. A total of 73 participants took part, and the top six projects were invited to the final. The four most successful teams received a total of 8,000 euros.
innovative solutions for shipping
The team "Navigai-Tors", consisting of Mojmír Horváth, Paul Wenth, Richard Senger and other colleagues, was awarded 2500 euros and the special prize "Ai for Green". Your project includes a simulation environment that was specially developed for logistics companies to determine CO2-efficient routes for container ships. Instead of just optimizing the travel time, the system focuses on sustainable processes that are supported by artificial intelligence. This innovative solution combines wind energy through the use of kites and strategic waves navigation to significantly reduce fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions.
The developed software prototypes offer companies the opportunity to simulate concrete scenarios and thereby receive precise predictions about the efficiency of their logistics. The team thus contributes decisively to the sustainable transformation of shipping, which is of the utmost importance in times of climate change and environmental protection.
