New cross -border cycle path between Austria and Hungary
New cross -border cycle path between Austria and Hungary
in Andau, more precisely in the tauber am See, a kick-off conference took place on Tuesday, in which the new cross-border project "CrosseCosys" was presented. The aim of this project is to bring Austria and Hungary closer together and to promote tourism in the region through a new bike path that is particularly environmentally friendly.
travel traffic is an important economic factor, and by developing cycle paths that highlight the beauty of our nature, we want to attract both locals and tourists. Various representatives from tourism and nature conservation took part in this conference, including Patrik Hierner from Northern Burgenland Tourismus and Sebastian Perlinger, a ranger from the national park. These two played a key role in the planning and development of the project.
Details on the bike path
is planned to combine the bike paths around Lake Neusiedler with the existing routes in the surrounding areas. As the organizers emphasize, the "National Park Radweg" is a useful addition to the existing leisure activities in the region. In view of the 30th anniversary of the Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park, this project also shows how tradition and modern ecological demands can be combined.
The connection via the single channel is another step that not only improves physical access to nature, but also contributes to positioning the region as an attractive ecotourism destination. This could not only benefit the local business owners in the long term, but also strengthen awareness of environmental protection and sustainable tourism.
This initiative is understood as part of a larger plan to exploit the cross -border potential of the region, which is an advantage for the population and nature. The project was broadly discussed and will soon be transferred to the practical implementation phase. More information on this can be found here
