Anniversary in Schattendorf: 50 years of solemn year 1974

on Sunday, October 6th, a special celebration took place in Schattendorf. The parish had invited the native Schattendorfer, who celebrated their 50th birthday this year, to a festive occasion. It is a traditional event that brings many of the former fellow citizens together every year.

The day started at 9.45 a.m. in the parish home, where the participants marched to the church together with musical accompaniment by the Schadendorf music association. A service took place in the church, which was dedicated to the special occasion. Following the ceremony, an Agape was offered in the rectory, in which the guests had the opportunity to talk and exchange memories.

An important moment of the celebration was the wreath's laying at the cemetery, which was carried out in memory of an already deceased yearmate. This gesture shows how important community and memories are in the Schattendorf society. Such a commemoration combines the present with the past and offers the people present the opportunity to pause together and to commemorate their deceased friends.

Following the serious part of the event, there was a sociable get -together in the Reichl inn, where the participants could enjoy a delicious meal. The program then also provided visits to other Schattendorf taverns, which underlined the festive character of the event and offered the opportunity to refresh old acquaintances.

The celebration was not only an opportunity to appreciate half a century, but also a platform to strengthen the connection between the years and to keep the traditions of Schattendorf alive. Such events contribute to the fact that the community grows together and younger generations get to know the values and customs of their ancestors.
